Common Issues with Garage Doors

Having an automatic garage door is a convenience for many home and business owners. However, as with most things, there are things that can go wrong with your garage door, especially with the wear and tear that is often put on these doors. While home and business owners like to save money where they can, when it comes to repairing your garage door, it is important to leave the job to the professionals as you can be extremely harmed if you are unsure of what you are doing. 

While these doors are convenient, it becomes very inconvenient when they are no longer working. If you are noticing that your garage door is making a lot of noise or the door itself is looking uneven, it might be time to call the professionals. Some common issues with residential and commercial garage doors include:

Trouble Opening or Closing- If your garage door is not opening or shutting as it should be, it may be an indication that your door is off balance. It could also be an issue with a fuse or something obstructing the sensors. 

Broken Springs- Your garage door is equipped with extension and torsion springs. When these snap you'll hear a loud banging sound and your garage door can quickly fall if it is opened. Having your garage door maintained every so often will prevent your springs from breaking at an inconvenient time. 

Roller Issues- If the rollers are old and rusted and lubricating them is not working, they may need to be replaced.

Sounds- If you are noticing unusual sounds coming from your garage door, there is probably something wrong with it including loose chains or rollers, broken springs, alignment issues, and more. 

Uneven Door- If your garage door is moving unevenly, there may be something blocking its path or there is rust in the unit.
